Dancing With All Your Might

2 Samuel 6:13-15 (New International Version)
13 When those who were carrying the ark of the LORD had taken six steps, he sacrificed a bull and a fattened calf. 14 David, wearing a linen ephod, danced before the LORD with all his might, 15 while he and the entire house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouts and the sound of trumpets.
Why do people shout and dance in praise to God? Dancing is a physical expression which uses the human body to interpret the aesthetics of motion and movement. When a person is born again, the human body which they were born with is the same body they had when they were born the first time. When a person dances in praise to Almighty God, the dance is as personal as if the person were speaking in tongues. The Holy dance should edify the body of Christ, be decent and in good order, and be pleasing to God. The following you tube clip is a young man in a church in Milwaukee, WI. I remember this young man 10 years ago when I was member of this church. I remember seeing him shout this way in the congregation when I was in the choir stand. Some of the older members of the church tried to keep this young man from praising God this way because they thought he was playing around. 10 years later I see this young man is still praising God in with this unique new dance. I know its a dance that was created by youth in the dance halls to secular music, but there are some older saints who still do a good "Shingaling" and "Funky Two Step" when giving praise to God. I don't know his name but God Bless you young brother. Keep on Shouting and Dancing before the Lord with all your might.
I really love this clip because you have the Deacon dancing using the traditional shout and the guy in the forground with the slide shout giving God the glory.

Can God Use You?

I don't like to make New Year's Resolutions. I do like to make goals and plans for every New Year. I have been in church every New Year's Eve for the past 20 or more years. Some of it is tradition but more than that, I want to have the opportunity to tell God thank you at the most appropriate time. There are those who would disagree and say that I should be telling God thank you all the time anyway. I totally agree. I believe not being in church on New Year's Eve is a snub in God's face if the individual is a true believer. Charles Stanly is one of my favorite TV preachers. He has a powerful ministry and I respect his personal integrity. I hope you enjoy this message as much as I did. Also, notice at 3:02 or so how he includes a prayer for the sinner and the unbeliever.

Invitation to Christ

My family and I took a trip to Charlotte recently and visited the Billy Graham Museum. The experience was very moving. I remember as a child watching the Billy Graham crusades on television. When I was 11 years old, I attended a revival service at the Hampton Colesium in Virginia. What I remember the most was the invitation to Christ at the end of the service. The choir sang the traditional, "Just As I Am" and Billy Graham gave the invitation to come to Christ. This is an invitation from the late Bishop G.E. Patterson. This is the most important part to any service. Christ came for the sinner and the lost not those who know who he is. Satan is alive and plotting on the ones who believe they have it all together. Luke 5:31 (King James Version)

31And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.
For the next few postings I will research some you tube clips that extend a true invitation to Christian Discipleship. One should never forget the root word in Christian is Christ.
Only Believe.....

Bill Cosby Himself

"I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody."

Proverbs 17:22 (King James Version)

A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
