He's A Wonder in my soul!!!!!!!!!!!
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

To be taught by the Lord
Isaiah 54:13 says, "All your sons (and daughters) will be taught by the Lord and great will be your childrens peace." The truth of the matter is that every teacher is not being led by God and every student doesn't hear you. I had a student in my orchestra class. I'll call him Jim. Jim was a very intelligent Asian kid with charisma and a negative disposition. He was the kid that always had the coolest and latest techno gadget. He talked a lot and rarely listened but, performed at an average level with little effort. I was instructing the orchestra and he was talking so I asked him, "Jim how do you explain this time signature?" Jim replied, "Im sorry Mr Woodis, I was listening, but I didn't hear you?" He was very sincere and honest. I wrote the quote down with a sharpie on a big index card and hung it on the board with his name and the date. Each class Jim began to do a little better each week until Jim joined the orchestra seriously once again. When the Lord is teaching we should be all ears with an open heart. John 6: 53-59 says, "Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. 57Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. 58This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever." 59He said this while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum. You must have Jesus in you to be taught of the Lord.

What is happening to the Church in the black community?
The church is now and continues to be a pillar in any community. According to the COGIC Manual, "A Christian Church should be recognized in the community in which it is located, as pursuing and maintaining a higher standard of morality than that of a worldly society." The world measures success in terms of material possessions, health and wealth. Personal gain and unmerited mercy and favor are garnered as the crowning achievements of true Christiandom in the many so called Christian congregations. For these reasons I FIRMLY believe that prosperity preaching is demonic and a potential anti-Christian concept. In Ephesians 4, the Apostle Paul stresses unity of the Church and gives further emphasis in verse 15; "That we be no longer children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine." In 1 Timothy 6:3-5, Paul gives a stern judgement, "If any man teach otherwise and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; he is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, perverse disputing of men of currupt minds and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness; from such withdraw thyself." The answer is clear, if a preacher is giving a message on prosperity and saying things like, "You need to share the blessings of God cause you closed on a house yesterday." or "Thank God, cause if you had got what you deserved, you'd have AIDS by now." I believe you should run away quickly. This was a statement hurled to a crowd of 100 +. The person giving this proclamation is a prominent pastor in Hampton Roads, Virginia. I am reminded of one of my childhood mentors. I was blessed to know my 87 year old pastor personally until he passed away at the age of 96. He pastored our church for 52 years. Many people felt that my late Pastor was stuck up and snooty. He did not allow just any one to preach from his pulpit and he did not shake hands with everyone he met. He was a very wise man. He believed in education and he would always say, "boy stick the Cross and preach on the Blood, if they don't shout that's alright." I will not associate myself with preachers who preach a doctrine of prosperity or say evil hate filled sayings from the pulpit. I have spent many evenings at the Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters praying for sick children. There were children in the hospital that did not have any parents. There were children with AIDS and addicted to heroin or cocaine. There were children in the hospital with all types of cancers and blood diseases which were fatal. Did any of those children deserve to be in that condition? Were they less blessed because their parents did not own a home? I don't believe so. I remember what my late pastor said, "Boy, I don't let everybody in your pulpit." I admonish ministers of the Gospel to pray and meditate on hearing from GOD more clearly. I warn anyone who reads this blog and believes in prosperity doctrine to read your Bible and search the scriptures for yourselves. After this I will follow the provisions of
Titus 3:10 (New International Version)
10Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him.

Earth Has No Sorrow That Heaven Cannot Heal
We are just beginning to see the devestation of the earthquake that happened in Haiti. Hundreds of thousands of lives have been lost. Even now CNN is reporting that their are people still trapped in buildings all over Port Au Prince. Dead bodies are lying all over the street throughout the city. Even the Red Cross has said that the situation will take more than the Red Cross can provide for the people of Haiti. I pray that the Spirit of God will continue to intervene in the efforts to help the people. Matthew 5:4 says, "Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted." I pray that a spirit of peace and calm will prevail as help begins to pour in to Haiti from around the world. I pray that God will be with former President Clinton as he coordinates immediate assistance to go to Haiti. I pray that the hand of God will stay the forces of the enemy and keep the devil at bay so that the help can be brought to the people of Haiti. Amen. If anyone would like to know of a local agency that may be able to help, I know that Faith Deliverance Christian Center in Norfolk, Virginia has a ministry that specifically provides aid to the people of Haiti. Two years ago the church built a mission and school just outside of Port Au Prince. Keep these people in your prayers. I find comfort in the words to the hymn, "Come Ye Disconsolate." Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal. Stay in prayer Saints of God.

Hold On. Help is on the Way - G.E. Patterson
This is a classic COGIC sermon. Full of power and truth. I believe the Holy Ghost needs to come over me and make me angry sometime. God Bless and Happy New Year!
